Collecting frogs in Parque Estadual Serra do Mar - Núcleo Santa Virgínia, Brazil

I am an early career biologist and lifelong adventurer fascinated by the ecology and evolution of amphibians.

As a PhD candidate and NSF Graduate Research Fellow in the Becker Lab at Penn State University, I aim to investigate mechanisms which equip amphibian populations to adapt to ecological changes such as disease emergence and habitat alteration.

My past research interests include the evolution of frog vision and the impact of artificial selection on ruminant immune gene diversity.

Over the course of 146 days from March 8th to July 31, 2021, I completed a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. Be sure to check out my “Hikers Log” for photos and stories from the trail! My Hikers Log is incomplete, but I hope to update it over the coming months, so check back every once in a while.
